Since the concept of The Lollypop Principle (TLP) was first introduced around 15 years ago, its prominence in my thinking has varied over time. On some occasions, it was central to my thoughts, while on others, it was not. However, the concept of spirituality has remained constant. I view the likely cause of these fluctuations as being due to a constant desire to read spiritual literature from a wealth of different sources which is something that you may be able to relate to.
My mind had somewhat separated TLP and spirituality, considering TLP as something that needed to fit a narrative that people would understand, aligning with other popular approaches and concepts. In reality, TLP serves more as an overview of current systems, beliefs and concepts in the world. In itself, it is not a system, practice or method, but rather an observation. This means it is not meant to help anyone achieve a specific goal or destination. It is simply something to observe.
Through this observation, things may become apparent, emphasising that the essence lies with the observer rather than what is observed. Essentially, the act of observing holds greater importance than what is observed, and this may lead to a new level of understanding that transcends objects, or what I refer to as object consciousness—a reliance on objects to define presence.
